She was born on November 13, 1906 in Galesburg to Albert E. and Ellen M. (Kallman) Hultgren. She married Donald L. Ross in Chicago IL on June 25, 1928. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1983.
She is survived by five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Janice Friend and Marcia Peterson, and a sister.
She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church and a longtime supporter of the Ralph M. Noble Post #285 American Legion Summer Band Program.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Monday April 29, 2002 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Lee Johnson officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

She was born October 28, 1914 in Rushville IL to Henry Martin and Bonnie Louise (Manlove) Richardson. She married LeRoy G. Heath on November 6, 1940 in St. Louis MO. He died February 12, 1994.
Surviving is one son Richard L. (and Carol) Heath of Galesburg IL and a grandson, Ryan P. Heath.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She worked as a secretary for McGrew & McGrew Insurance for 30 years, retiring in 1977. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1931. She graduated from Browns Business College.
A private family graveside memorial service will be held at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials can be made to the Galesburg Public Library.

She was born October 31, 1916 in Ft. Madison, IA to Arlan and Viola (Pollard) Vance. She married Ivan R. Lyon on July 4, 1939 in Memphis, MO. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1995.
She is survived by a son, Larry E. (and Kim) Lyon of Monmouth, IL, a daughter, Linda (and Gary) Sage of Nauvoo, IL, a brother, Marion “Bud” Anderson of Nauvoo, IL, a sister, Louise Lum of Nauvoo, IL, four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and had been a clerk typist at the Pentagon for 1 year. She was a 1933 graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Ft. Madison, Iowa. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Galesburg. She lived in Niota for 15 years, Washington, DC for a year, and in Galesburg for the past 54 years.
Funeral will be 12 Noon Saturday April 27, 2002 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating. Committal services will be 2:30 PM Saturday in Nauvoo Cemetery, Nauvoo, IL. Memorials can be made to Faith United Methodist Church.

She was born March 5, 1935 in Galesburg IL to Jess M. and Mary W. (Dwyer) Smith. She married John Hutchison on February 7, 1953 in Burlington IA. He survives.
Also surviving is one son Robert (and Rena) Hutchison of Galesburg IL, two daughters, Mrs. Brad (Mary) Williams of Victoria IL and Mrs. Chris (Rebecca) Hanley of Galesburg IL, two brothers Joseph E. Smith of Springdale Ark. and George F. Smith of Bates City MO, a sister Margaret Karnes of Forest City IL, eight grandchildren and two step grandchildren. Preceding her in death include three brothers, one sister and her parents.
She worked at Maytag for 24 years, retiring on April 1, 1993. She lived in Galesburg all her life. She attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
There will be no services. Memorials can be made to the charity of the donors choice.

He was born September 12, 1911 in Pontoosuc, IL, the son of George M. and Mary A. Robinson Lamb. He married Macle P. Nelson on October 12, 1952 in Dallas City, IL. She preceded him in death on October 22, 1993.
He is survived by two daughters, Dolores Hancock of East Alton, IL and Charlotte L. (and Floyd) Crose of Orlando, FL, a sister, Maryalpha Cook of Hamilton, IL, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the Amoco Pipeline for 39 years. He retired in 1976. He had lived in Dallas City for several years and in Galesburg for the past 35 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, Galesburg. He was a member of VFW Post 2257, Galesburg. He was in the United States Army during World War II, working in the Chemical Warfare Department. He had served in Australia and New Guinea.
Funeral will be 10:30 AM Saturday April 27, 2002 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Ray Cameron officiating. Visitation will be 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Friday April 26, 2002 at the Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with military rites accorded by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Memorials can be made to First Christian Church or Community Hospices of America.

She was born October 11, 1927 in Sterling, IL, the daughter of Abram J. and Esther Mayes Powelson. She married Dr. Frank Lee McCormick on July 29, 1950 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1983.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin F. McCormick of Albuquerque, NM and Kelley A. McCormick of Stevensville, MT, two daughters, Lee McCormick of Albuquerque, NM and Jamie E. Damon of Las Cruces, NM, a brother, James S. Powelson of Ft. Myers, FL, five grandchildren and two nephews.
She was a homemaker who graduated from Galesburg High School. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in literature from Knox College in 1949. For the past several years, she had been wintering in Mesilla, NM and summering in Stevensville, MT. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Truth or Consequence, NM. For over 50 years, she was a Golden Girl in the International Chapter of PEO Sisterhood. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
Graveside services will 10:00 AM Saturday April 27, 2002 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg with Rev. W. J. Barnds officiating. Memorials can be made to the Las Cruces Chapter of PEO. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

She was born October 29, 1917 in Gladstone IL to Fred W. and Lucrecia (Noble) Saben. She married Curtis E. Yarrington in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua IA on June 8, 1937. He died in September 4, 1997.
She is surviving by a son Donald E. Yarrington of Galesburg, IL and two brothers Lee F. Saben in Biggsville IL and Gary Saben of Northbrook, IL. Her husband, one sister and parents precede him in death.
She taught school in the Biggsville area for twelve years. She later did administrative work for her husband at the Yarrington Insurance Agency in Biggsville IL for 25 years retiring in 1971. She graduated from Biggsville High School and attended Western Illinois University. She lived in Biggsville IL for 60 years and has lived in Galesburg since 1977.
Services are scheduled for 10 AM Monday April 22, 2002 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Lee Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Monday at the Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Community Hospices of America, Bethel Baptist Church Vision 2000 or a charity of the donor’s choice.

She was born September 14, 1916 in Abingdon IL to William and Daisey (Cozad) Brodwick. She married George England Jr. in Abingdon IL on June 22, 1937. He died February 19, 1967.
She is survived by a son Lonnie G. (and Barbara) England of Wataga, IL, three grandsons and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and two sisters.
She worked at the Former Kronsted Grocery in Wataga IL. She later worked at Swedough’s Donut Shop for 14 years, retiring in 1981. She graduated from Abingdon High school.

She was born December 2, 1921 in Gregory Landing, MO, to Wesley and Carrie (Baker) Breeden. She married Jack Higgins in Burlington, Iowa in 1940. She then married Clarence Rockhold in Chicago in 1961. Both husbands preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Albert of Galesburg, IL, a step-son, Edwin Rockhold of Galesburg, IL, a step daughter, Kaye Ojeda of Galesburg, IL, three brothers, James Breeden of East Galesburg, IL, Robert Breeden of Edgewater, FL and Donald Breeden of Knoxville, IL, a sister, Laveta Breeden of Keokuk, IA, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, six step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Coe in 1964, a grandson, Michael Stewart in 1971, and a brother.
She was the owner of Ann’s Coffee Shop on Main Street in Galesburg for 10 years. She then owned the East End Tavern and the Delmar Motel, both in Knoxville. She retired in 1967. She graduated from Good Hope High School.
Funeral will be 3:30 PM Friday April 19, 2002 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Tom Heather officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM Friday at the Chapel. He was born September 29, 1916 in Galesburg, the son of Frank and Anna England Sandburg. He married Lottie Simmons on October 26, 1947 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on March 1, 1990.
He is survived by a brother, Robert Sandburg of Muscatine, IA and a sister, Louise Anderson of Galva, IL. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
He was a baker at the former Strand Bakery for many years. He then was a custodian for Galesburg High School for 20 years. He retired in 1982. He was a 1934 graduate of Galesburg High School. He was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of VFW Post 2257, Galesburg.
Graveside services will be 10:30 AM Friday April 19, 2002 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg, with Rev. Leigh Nygard officiating. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
