
90, of 311 E. Simmons St., Galesburg, IL died at 2:45 PM Tuesday, December 31, 2002 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
He was born November 9, 1912 in Rapatee, IL to Charles G. and Edith (Pumyea) Walker. He married Carol Mhoon in Knoxville, IL. He then married Hazel Brown Engman. She preceded him in death in 1985. He then married Ozelma Lafern Tedrick in Galesburg on July 10, 1986. She preceded him in death on February 23, 1999.
He is survived by two daughters, Susie (and James) Adams of Creve Coeur, IL and Mary E. (and Ralph) Wilt of Victoria, IL, a special friend whom cared for him, Joanne Hewitt of Galesburg, IL, 13 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Brockway in 1985.
He worked as a whiskey blender for Hiram Walker for 20 years. He then was a building supervisor for Carl Sandburg College for 10 years, retiring in the 1980’s. He had lived most of his life in Galesburg. He was a 1928 graduate from the Maquon-Gilson High School. He was of Methodist faith. He served in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Saturday January 4, 2003 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Saturday at the Chapel. Burial will be in Maquon Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

He is survived by his mother, Laticia M. Mejia, his grandmother, Doreen Hernandez, grandfather, Tim Mejia, great grandmother, Shirley Miller, uncles, Isidor Hernandez and Orlando Hernandez, aunt, Nubia Solis and cousins, Orena Jackson and Sabrina Ascencio, all of Galesburg.

He was born July 14, 1912 in St. David, IL to Carl “Bunk” and Grace (Toncray) Bowman. He married Cora Mae Poole in Chicago, IL in 1937. She preceded him in death in 1991.
Surviving is a daughter, Susan (and Michael) Sirotka of Houston, TX, a sister, Irene Donaldson Landis of Galesburg, IL and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and his parents.
He was a weighmaster at the Knoxville (IL) Mining Company from 1935 to 1947 and then at the Thermal Coal Company from 1947 to 1955. He then established and operated the Knoxville Coal Yard until his retirement in 1969. Following his retirement he worked for Cantrell Rental Service in Galesburg, IL for 12 years.
He was a 1937 graduate of Knox College where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity, Key Club, Friars and Sigma Delta Psi (a national honorary society requiring proficiency in 14 track and field events) and was captain of the Knox College track team. He was an Elder and member of the Knoxville Presbyterian Church. He served on the Knoxville School Board # 202 for 12 years and was treasurer for the Knoxville School District # 202 for 26 years. He was a charter member of the Planning Commission for the city of Knoxville and served as its Chairman for 15 years. He was a member of the Masonic Order in Knoxville Lodge # 66 AF and AM. He was a member of the Lake Bracken Country Club. He was a member of the Knox Lombard 50 year Club where he received a scroll of honor for service to others.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Knoxville Presbyterian Church.

He was born February 4, 1929 in Raleigh Center, MI to Frank Love and Laura (Cutcher) Arnold. He married Patricia Ann Tucker in Galesburg, IL on December 29, 1951. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons Harold “Jim” (and Jean) Arnold and George (and Ann) Arnold, both of Galesburg, IL and Thomas (and Angie) Arnold of East Moline, IL, four daughters, Matilda “Tillie” (and Robert) Jacobs, Helen (and Les) Friend, Elizabeth (and Pranab) Chanda and Pamela (and Richard) Sage, Jr., all of Galesburg, IL, two brothers, Stewart Arnold of Cameron IL and Richard (and Margaret) Arnold of St. Augustine, IL and fourteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
He worked for Rowe Manufacturing Company for 29 years. He later worked as a machinist for Kewanee Corporation for 12 years. He then worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He served in the US Air Force during World War II.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday January 3, 2003 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Lugene Finley officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday January 2, 2003 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Military honors will be provided by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285. Memorials can be made to the Knox County Humane Society.

She was born January 14, 1922 in Meradosia, IL to Sam and Letha Mae (Swisher) Howell. She married Verl Arvil Connour on August 31, 1939 in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1995.
She is survived by three sons, Lloyd (and Penny) Connour of Sparta, WI, Larry Allen (and Patti) Connour of Carlinville, IL and Ralph Wayne (and Konnie) Connour of Galesburg, IL, two daughters, Naomi Mary Morton of Hampton IA and Ruth Ann (and Roger) Elliott of Plainfield IL, a brother, Robert (and Juanita) Howell of Quincy, IL, three sisters, Betty (and Donald) Landess and Donna (and Ron) Evans, both of Quincy, IL and Helen (and Les) Clay of Orlando FL, fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, a son, David Arvil Connour, three brothers and three sisters.
She did domestic work. She lived in Galesburg most her life. She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church were she was very active in Women’s Ministry.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday January 2, 2003 at the Calvary Assembly of God Church with Rev. Bob Malone and Rev. C.R. DePrenger officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorials can be made to the Calvary Assembly of God Church or to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

He was born June 4, 1916 in Galesburg, IL to Fred V. and Lola (Keeling) Erickson. He married Margaret E. Spangler on August 25, 1939 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Lee Erickson of Church Hill, TN, three daughters, Susie Richardson and Carol Erickson, both of Galesburg, and Elaine Karch of Heyworth, IL, 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a granddaughter, Collette Godsil.
He had owned and operated a laundry business, had been an automobile investigator for the Illinois Secretary of State, had worked for Admiral Corporation, had worked at the Rex Johnson Elevator in Oneida, had been stock room manager of the former Arlan’s Department Store, and clerked for several area auctioneers. He retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue in 1973. He graduated from Galesburg High School and Knox College. He had lived in Galesburg his entire life and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a member and past president of the Galesburg Noon Lion’s Club and member and past president of Illinois State Employee Association. He had served as a Knox County board member, had served as a Republican precinct committeeman, and had belonged to the John Erickson Republican League. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Friday January 3, 2003 in East Linwood Cemetery with Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association or Community Bible Church, Knoxville.

He was born March 7, 1925 in Rio, IL the son of Herbert Perry and Myrtle C. Folger Johnson. He married Edith E. Olson in Galesburg in 1975. She preceded in death on February 19, 2000.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Donna Jean) Willeumier of Palatine, IL and Nancy Ellen Marchetti of Parkton, MD and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother.
He worked as a Roofing Contractor and the Vice President of Industrial Roofing Company in Mattoon, IL for 20 years. He was the former owner of the Dairy Queen in for a few years in Mattoonx IL, retiring in 1972. He has lived in Galesburg since 1973. He was a graduate of Galesburg High School and Knox College. He attended Colgate University and Cornell University in Ithica, NY for Naval Officer training. He was a fifty member of the Galesburg Lions Club, where he received multiple awards and earned the 1977 Lion of the Year. He was active in Multiple Sclerosis Society. He was a member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church in Galesburg, IL. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Funeral services will 1:30 PM Friday January 3, 2003 at the Emmanuel Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Patterson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Friday at the church. Burial will be in Ontario (IL) Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Galesburg Lions Club.

He worked for Maytag-Galesburg Appliance Division as a mule mechanic for 45 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #880 and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers #2063.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday December 31, 2002 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel Galesburg, IL with Rev. Thomas Heather officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Visitation will be Monday December 30, 2002 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chapel.

He is survived by his father, Ralph and step mother Louise Plympton of Galesburg IL, a son Randy (and Amy) Plympton of Victoria, IL, a step brother, John (and Sharon) Samulson of Grantsburg, WI, a sister, Elizabeth Bent of Abingdon, IL and a step sister, Hattie (and Jim) Jacobs of Galesburg, IL and three grandchildren.
He worked for Weaver-Yemm Chevrolet auto body department for several years and also for City Cab both in Galesburg, IL.

He was born May 7, 1924 in Bushnell, IL the son of Harold E. and Lottie Clark Boyd. He married Maybelle L. Hayes on May 7, 1950 in Galesburg IL. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters Mrs. Jamie (Christine) Boone of Roscoe IL and Lisa Boyd of Galesburg IL, three brothers Howard “Sam” Boyd of Galesburg IL, Vincil “Toot” Boyd and Max Boyd both of Avon, IL, three sisters Mrs. Wes (Barbara) Paul of Pekin IL, Mrs. Newt (Betty) Howard of Bushnell, IL and Mrs. Ernie (Phyllis) Repp of Avon IL, two granddaughters Andrea and Shauna Boone of Rockford IL and one uncle Olin Clark of Rushville IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
He served in the Army Airforce from 1943-1945 stationed mostly in India. He attained the rank of Corporal.
He worked at Jennings Dairy and the Rialto Theatre in Bushnell, IL. He later worked for Briggs Manufacturing in Abingdon IL for 43 years as a sprayer, retiring in May of 1989. He graduated from Bushnell High School in 1943.
He was an avid hunter and reader. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a member of the Ducks Unlimited. He was a member of the Abingdon Pottery Collectors Club. He was a member of the Ex-China Burma India’ers and a member of Us Too (Cancer support group)
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday January 2, 2003 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tom Larsen officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Monday December 30, 2002 at the Chapel. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285.
