He was born August 23, 1910 in Galesburg, IL the son of Charles E. and Amy Dahleen Billings. He married Lois H. Barnes on June 11, 1944 in Galesburg, IL. She survives.
Also surviving is one sister, Ruth A. Billings of Galesburg, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert and Edward, three sisters; Helen Asher, Betty Schmit and Jane Sage.
He worked as a foreman for Beatrice Foods for 36 years retiring on January 31, 1975. He lived in Galesburg, IL his entire life. He graduated from Galesburg High School. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg. He was very involved in his church and held several offices within the church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 30, 2004 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Ron Scarlett officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday at the Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or to a charity of the donors choice.

78, 2187 Sodhi Ave., Galesburg, died at 8:10 PM Monday, April 26, 2004 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born May 3, 1925 in Galesburg, the son of Jesse Seaton and Lucille Abbadusky Huff. He married M. Luella Wiles on January 26, 1947 in Oneida, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, LeRoy (and Sue) Huff, Petersburg, IL and John (and Jean) Huff, Galesburg, a daughter, Julie (and Russ) Carlson, Kirkwood, IL, 6 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother and a grandchild.
He farmed in the Galesburg area for 6 years. He then was a conductor for the C.B. & Q. Railroad, later Burlington Northern Railroad for 33 years. He retired October 1, 1985. From 1990 to 1995 he and his wife were campground hosts in New Salem, IL. He had spent winters in Harlingen, TX for many years. He lived in Kirkwood, IL from 1995 until 2003.
He attended Countryside Bible Church in Monmouth, IL. He was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 in Galesburg. He was a WWII Army veteran, serving form 18 months in the Philippines and Japan.
Funeral will be 1:30 PM Friday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Ken Muck will officiate. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 PM Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with military rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Memorials can be made to Countryside Bible Church, Monmouth.

82, 155 N. Prairie St., Galesburg, IL died at 9:00 AM Tuesday, April 27, 2004 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born October 2, 1921 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Ray Woodman and Dorothy Zearing Hinchliff.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Joyce Hinchliff, Galesburg and a niece, Ann (and Terry) Seliga, Newton, IA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Hinchliff.
She was the director of personnel at Continental Bank in Chicago for 35 years. She then worked at WAIK radio in Galesburg for several years. She was a night receptionist at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel for 10 years.
She was a graduate of Galesburg High School and a 1943 graduate from Knox College, Galesburg.
Private family graveside services will be Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Vincent Peters officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials can be made to Knox College.

Mrs. Nancy W. Patterson age 85 of 2345 N. Seminary St. Galesburg, Il. died Friday April 23, 2004 at Seminary Manor at 8:07 AM.
She was born August 24, 1918 in Pittsburg, Pa. the daughter of Dean Richmond and Doris Fancher Wilson. She married Rev. Thomas J. Patterson in Pittsburg, Pa. June 7, 1941. He preceded her in death December 1, 1998.
Surviving are one son Dr. Thomas H. (Becky) Patterson-Galesburg, Il., two daughters Betsy J. (Keith) Colburn-Winnetka, Il. and Laurie Ann (Joseph) Anderson-Seattle, Wa. Seven grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother Holden F. Wilson.
She graduated from Shadyside Academy in 1936 and Chatham College in 1940 both in Pittsburg, Pa.. She was a homemaker. She attended Grace Episcopal Church in Galesburg, belonged to a bridge club, painted with water colors, and wrote poetry.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday April 28, 2004 at Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. Thomas Janikowski officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:30-11 AM at the church. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, Galesburg Civic Art Center or to Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She was born October 25, 1937 in Williamsfield, IL the daughter of William and Doris Walsh Douglas. She married Leonard F. Mahnesmith in Cambridge, IL on March 26, 1955.
She is survived by her husband, three sons; Daniel (and Robin) Mahnesmith of Rio, IL, John Mahnesmith of Watage, IL and Lennie Mahnesmith of Galesburg, IL, one sister Barbara Renwick of Galesburg, IL, eight grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was raised by her aunt Clara Douglas since she was three years old. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Mahnesmith.
She graduated from Galesburg High School and Carl Sandburg College. She worked for the former Galesburg Mental Health Center from 1974 to 1984, then Zeller Mental Health Center in Peoria, IL and later was a supervisor at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, IL until retiring in 1996.
She was a member of the First Church of The Nazarene, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, and the AFL-CIO.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. James Hazelwood officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at the Chapel. Burial will be in the Wataga (IL) Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.

He was born July 20, 1935 in Gladstone, IL, the son of Woodrow W. and Elsie E. Stewart McDorman. He married Patricia O. Carr on September 4, 1954 in Galesburg. She survives.

(and Lisa) McDorman, Cameron, IL, a daughter, Sheril McDorman, Victorville, CA, 2 brothers, Donald (and Pat) McDorman and Woodrow Jr. (and Connie) McDorman, both of Galesburg, 2 sisters, Barbara Ericson, Galesburg and Lucille Doom, Aliso Viejo, CA, 3 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He worked in the office of May Products/May Company for 30 years and then at Connor Company for 16 years, both wholesale plumbing and heating companies in Galesburg. He retired in 2001.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1953. He was of Methodist faith. He was a member of the Illinois Police Association, the Eagle’s Lodge in Oquawka, and the Little John Conservation Club.
Funeral will be 10 AM Tuesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 PM Monday at the chapel. She was preceded in death by her father Bert and birth mother Katherine.
She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1975 and Carl Sandburg College in 1977. She worked for Intra State/Centel Telephone Company for 7 years and later for Knox College Business Office for 20 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

She worked as an Educational Assistant for the St. Paul, MN Public Schools retiring in 1997. She lived in St. Paul, MN from 1971-1998. She lived in Galesburg the rest of her life. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1953.
She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Galesburg.

She was born November 28, 1915 in Perry, IL, the daughter of Harris and Margaret Hoerlein Bradbury. She married Joe E. Brooks in Jefferson City, MO on January 22, 1939. He preceded her in death March of 1968.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Joe Brooks of Alexis, IL and Sam L. (wife Sharyn) Brooks of Galesburg, IL, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
She was a homemaker. She also worked as a postal clerk and retired as Post Master in Perry, IL, working in the Post Office for a total of 28 years. She lived in Galesburg the last 15 years. She graduated from Perry High School in 1932 and Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL.
She was a member and secretary of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the Worthy Matron in 1943. She was a member of the Women’s Business Group in Pittsfield, IL. She was a member of the Post Master’s Association.
She was a member of the Perry Presbyterian Church and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Galesburg, IL.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday in the Perry Presbyterian Church, Perry, IL with the Rev. Stephen Bibb officiating and with a visitation from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Friday at the church. There will also be a visitation from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Thursday with Order of the Eastern Star services at 7:30 PM and a prayer service to follow at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery in Perry, IL. Memorials can be made to the Eastern Star Home Fund or to the Perry Presbyterian Church. He was born December 20, 1917 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Harry and Bertha Redman Riseman. He married Marlys Siegel in 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1989.
He is survived by a son, Scott Riseman, Chattanooga, TN, 3 daughters, Sharon (and John) Wolfe, Highland Park, IL, Lauri (and Steve) Davis, Galesburg, IL, and Pamela Riseman, Ottumwa, Iowa, a sister, Adele Pearson, Birmingham, AL, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
He was a Metropolitan Life Insurance Agent for 30 years, retiring in 1972. He moved to Overland Park, KS in 1972 and worked for Woolf Brothers Clothing Store. He had lived in Galesburg since 1996.
He was a 1935 graduate of Ottumwa High School and attended the University of Iowa. He was a member of Temple Bnai, Des Moines, Iowa. While living in Ottumwa, he was a member of the Ottumwa Country Club and the American Contact Bridge League. He was also an avid Duplicate Bridge player.
He was a United States Army veteran from WWII.
Graveside services will be 10 AM Friday in Brookside Cemetery, Galesburg. Maurice Lyon will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials can be made to Temple Sholom, Galesburg. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
