Mr. James D. Anderson, Galesburg Chapel

55, of 959 Olive St. Galesburg, IL died at 9:53 AM Thursday September 29, 2005 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born August 27, 1950 in Galesburg, IL the son of Frank and Ethel Rhinehart Anderson.

He is survived by one nephew Frank L. Long and a niece Malena McElmurry, a great nephew Thomas Long and two great nieces Talisa McClendon and Raiyanna McElmurry, two brothers Fred (wife Alberta “Teen”) Anderson of Avon IL and Terry (wife Linda) Anderson of Wilmington IL and one sister Judy St. John of Galesburg IL.

He worked as an assembler for the Maytag Corporation for 33 years, retiring in December 2002. He lived in Galesburg the last 10 years, before he lived in Avon and Abingdon. He graduated from Avon High School in 1968.

No services are scheduled. Cremation to be accorded. A Private Family Scattering of Ashes in the Scattering Garden at East Linwood Cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Ruth G. Tryon, Galesburg Chapel

99, of 2245 N. Seminary St., Galesburg, died at 5:51 PM Saturday September 24, 2005 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born December 18, 1905 in Galesburg, the daughter of Leroy Stephen and Katherine Jenkins Page. She married H. Wayne Tryon in Galesburg on April 18, 1931. He died January 4, 1991.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (husband David) Smith of Galesburg and Patricia (husband Edward) Waters of Freeport, IL, one brother, Leland (wife Dot) Page of Livingston, Montana , one sister, Barbara Lusk of Momence, IL, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
She was a homemaker. She was the organist at several churches. She lived in Galesburg her entire life. She graduated from Galesburg High School. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a Music Sorority. She was a member of the Galesburg Study Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was very active, including church circle and Sunday school classes.
Funeral will be 1:30 Wednesday September 28, 2005 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Revs. Marilyn Anell and Charles Rettig will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church, Doctors Without Borders or to the Knox County Habitat for Humanity.

Mr. Willard A. "Bud" Eck, Galesburg Chapel

64, 733 US Hwy. 150E, died at 3:55 AM Sunday, September 25, 2005 at his home.
He was born February 8, 1941 in Galesburg, the son of Henry F. and Margaret Ervin Eck. He married Linda Higgins on November 2, 1963 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Todd (and Amy) Eck, Bushnell, IL and Mike (and Dawn Carlson) Eck, Galesburg, 4 grandchildren, Lacey, Sierra, Nathan, and Logan Eck, a god daughter, Lindsay Higgins, Macomb, and 2 sisters, Virginia (and Robert) Fell of Galesburg and Beverly (and Ronald) Cossart. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a truck driver for 40 years for various companies. He retired from the Maytag Fleet in February of 2000. He was a former member of the Galesburg Quarter Milers Club (a group that recognized safety and courtesy on the highway). He had a perfect driving record for the multi million miles that he drove. For this he received many awards. He was a member of the Teamster’s Union. After retirement from Maytag, he worked seasonally for the City of Knoxville.
He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Knoxville. He was a board member of the Knox County Historical Sites, which he took great pride in. He was a member of the American Legion.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1960. He served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1962. His home port was Norfolk, VA. He served as a Quarter Master aboard the USS Willard Keith during the Cuban Blockade. He had lived in Galesburg, Rockford, Alexis, and Abingdon.
Gardening was the hobby that he enjoyed. Sharing with family and friends gave him great satisfaction.
Funeral will be 11 AM Wednesday, September 28, 2005 in the First United Presbyterian Church of Knoxville. The Rev. Phyllis Sterr will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 6:30 PM Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, with military rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Mr. Augustino “Auggie” Ricco, Galesburg Chapel

54, 1052 Grand Ave., Galesburg, died at 8:02 AM Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at home.
He was born April 27, 1951 in Johnstown, NY, the son of Robert and Edith Testa Ricco. He married Judith Lynn Eccher. They divorced. He later married Debra Mahnesmith. They divorced.
He is survived by his mother, Edith Ricco, Van Nuys, CA, 3 sons, John Calvin Robert Ricco and Anthony Joseph (and Mandy) Ricco, both of Monmouth and Christian Jeremiah Ricco, Galesburg, 2 daughters, Lori (and Kris Agans) Mahnesmith and Danielle (and Richard III) Carr, both of Galesburg, and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
He worked for Briggs Pottery in Abingdon for 23 ½ years. He then worked for DCM Transport and went through their over the road truck driving school. For the past 2 ½ years, he had worked in housekeeping at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He graduated from high school in Van Nuys, CA. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg.
He enjoyed antique and hot rod cars and attending car shows, his 1986 Chevy El Camino that was passed on to him by his father, and listening to Rock-N-Roll music.
Funeral will be 2 PM Monday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Ron Scarlett will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorial can be made to the family.

81, 1065 E. Losey St., died at 2:45 AM Thursday, September 22, 2005 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born November 21, 1923 in Carman, IL, the daughter of Albert F. and Emma Tofflemoyer Bundy.
She is survived by 2 sons, Richard L. Tracy, Monmouth, IL and Steven G. Tracy, Galesburg, 3 grandsons, 3 great grandsons, and 3 sisters, Martha Cross and Evelyn Qualls, both of Galesburg and Irene Dean, Knoxville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
She worked at the former Galesburg Research Hospital for 30 years, retiring in 1987. She had lived most of her life in Galesburg. She was of the Methodist faith.

83, of 1631 Rock Island Ave., Galesburg, IL, died at 10:35 AM Wednesday September 21, 2005 in the Mineral Area Medical Center in Farmington, MO.
She was born January 13, 1922 in Galesburg, the daughter of Alvin and Bessie Mae Morrow Dupuy. She married Howard R. Bowers in Ottumwa, IA on September 14, 1940. He died September 24 1987. She later married Virgil May in Foley, MO on June 3, 1989. He died February 13, 1996.
She is survived by three sons, Larry W. Bowers of Bonne Terre, MO, David W. (wife Marjorie) Bowers of Taylor Ridge, IL, and Howard R. (wife Sharon) Bowers Jr. of Wilton, IA, two daughters, Sharon Mickey of DeKalb, IL and Mary Jane De Boever of Bonne Terre, MO, one brother, Ronald E. Dupuy of Wabash, IN, 3 sisters, Pauling J. Bunker of Dallas, TX, Ruth I. Dupuy of Galesburg, IL, and Ada Mettler of Canton, TX, twelve grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and 3 grandchildren.
She was a bookkeeper, retiring in 1968. She was the owner of Bowers Porcelain and Ceramics. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1938. She was a member of the Galesburg Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Beulah was a member of the First Church of God, Galesburg, IL.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday September 24, 2005 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Paul Bickel will officiate. She was born August 10, 1931 in Sullivan, In. the daughter of Harold C. and Joyce L. Sherwood Liston. She married Joseph H. “Joe” Little April 6, 1952.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters Jane (Tim) Attaway-Oblong, Il. Ann (David) Hulsizer-Galesburg, Il. and Sue (Ryan) Shultz-Otley, Ia., two brothers John (Carol) Liston-Gilson, Il. and Tom (Joan) Liston-Sun City, Az., four grandchildren Dan Attaway-Effingham, Il., John (Jane) Attaway-Highland, Il., Katie Hulsizer-Champaign, Il. and Matt Hulsizer-Galesburg, Il. three great grandchildren Cale Attaway-Altona, Il., Logan and Anthony Attaway-Highland, Il., aunt, uncles, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and four infant children.
She was a homemaker and owned and operated several businesses in Knoxville including The Lady Bug Shop, The Peddlers Three, and The Flower Basquet.
She was a member of the Fairway Christian Church-The Villages, attended the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches in Knoxville. Was a member of PEO Chapter AM-Knoxville, PEO Chapter IF-The Villages, Fl., Bell Chords-in The Villages, she served as City Clerk of Knoxville for several years. She loved to china paint.
Graveside services will be 11 AM Friday September 23, 2005 at Knoxville Cemetery Knoxville, Il. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel Galesburg. Mrs. Faye Virginia Calvin, Abingdon Chapel

72 of Galesburg, IL formerly of Bradenton, FL, died at 12:50 pm Monday, September 19, 2005 at the Hawthorne Inn.
She was born October 23, 1932 near Cash in Craighead County, Arkansas to Alvie and Myrtle Dunn Gossage. She married Jackson Leonard Cook on March 23, 1947 in Newport, Arkansas. They divorced. She then married Ronald Calvin in May of 1995 in Bradenton, FL. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2004.
Surviving are one daughter, Anita (Jerry) Sharp, near Little Swan Lake, rural Avon, IL; two sons, Dan Cook of Michigan City, Indiana and Dalton Cook of Bradenton, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Devan (Earlene) Gossage of Cash, Arkansas; two sisters, Helen (Paul) Holder of Swifton, Arkansas and Macel (Ray) Armour of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
She had lived in Galesburg the past year and prior to that had lived in Michigan City, IN and in Bradenton, FL for 20 years where she managed the K & K Mobile Home Park.
She was of the Baptist Faith.

She was born June 30, 1924 in Victoria, IL the daughter of William A. and Geneva Dossett Iles. She married Albert Leo Daugherty in 1945 in Galesburg, IL. He died in 1986. She later married Charles Wallis.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty (husband Phillip) Anderson of Alvin, TX and Patricia Ann Daugherty of Galesburg, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
She worked as an assembler for Gale Products for 29 years, retiring in 1985. She had lived in Galesburg since 1942. She graduated from Victoria High School.

88, of 647 Cypress Lane, Galesburg, IL died at 5:45 AM Friday September 16, 2005 in Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, IL.
She was born December 26, 1916 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Paul and Florence Trimble Tilly. She married Earl Frinsthal in Dubuque, IA in 1937. He died in 1978. She later married Wallace Ehrenhardt in Galesburg, IL on January 9, 1989. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Paul (wife Jackie) Frinsthal of Lees Summitt, MO, and Dan Frinsthal of Independence, MO, three daughters, Joan Wenstrom of Galesburg, IL, Vicky (husband Russell) Mundwiler of Knoxville, IL and Rita Sue Surface of Galesburg, IL, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three step sons, two step daughters, five step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two granddaughters, one grandson, one son, one daughter and one brother.
She worked for the Galesburg Mental Health Center for 28 years, retiring in 1970. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1936. She and friends formed a bingo club for over 65 years. She was an active bowler and loved bingo.
She was a member of the Community of Christ Church.
