96, of the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville and formerly of Abingdon, died at 9:45 pm Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005 at the nursing home.
She was born June 8, 1909 in Avon, IL to John Marion and Nellie Irene Struble Davis. She married Roy Brooks Foor on December 2, 1933 in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Clyde Davis and Lynn Davis and one sister, Ruth Hopkins.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy (and Robert) Cutts of Galesburg; two granddaughters, Terri Cutts of Abingdon and Traci Johnston of Amanda, OH and 3 great grandchildren; one foster daughter, Anita (and Barry) Amos of Sparta, IL.
She graduated from Avon High School and from Brown’s Business College in Davenport, IA.
She was a homemaker. She had been a resident at the nursing home since August 2005. Prior to that, she and her husband farmed in the Maquon and Appleton areas before moving to Abingdon in 1968. She later moved to Galesburg where she had lived until going to the nursing home.
She was of the Methodist Faith.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Monday at the Abingdon Cemetery. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.

88, 2245 N. Seminary St., Galesburg, IL died at 10:20 AM Sunday October 23, 2005 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born September 28, 1917 in Rock Island, IL the daughter of Clarence H. and Edna Foster Loveridge. She married Julius Jaudes on July 31, 1943 in Alexis, IL. He died January 20, 1970.
Survivors include two sisters, Martha (husband Howard) Moore of Alexis and Shirley Spivey of Alpha, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
She worked as an assistant cashier at the Bank of Alexis for 6 years and then at Monmouth Trust and Savings for 34 years, retiring in 1979. She graduated from Alexis High School in 1935. She moved to Alpha in 1979 and has lived in Galesburg since 1990. She was a former member of the Monmouth Business and Professional Women’s Club. She served a term as Illinois State President with the National Association of Bank Women while at Monmouth Bank.
She was a member of the Alpha United Methodist Church in Alpha, IL.
Memorial services will be 11 AM Saturday October 29, 2005 in the Alpha United Methodist Church. The Rev. Suzanne Greer will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the church. Mrs. Jaudes has donated her body to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. Memorials can be made to the Alpha United Methodist Church, Alexis Cemetery or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

80, of 716 S. Broad St., Knoxville, IL died at 8:40 am Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg.
He was born July 21, 1925 in Knox County to B.D. and Inez Boyd Putnam. He married Lila Vergene King on July 28, 1946 in Gilson. She preceded him in death on June 12, 1974. He later married Dorothy I. Hammond Cramer on July 12, 1975 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on October 20, 2005.
Surviving are three sons, Rich (and Paula) Putnam, Steve (and Sally) Putnam and Jeff (and Jackie) Putnam all of Knoxville; one daughter, Joni Bradbury of Galesburg; a stepson, Mark Edward Cramer of Naperville; a stepdaughter, Connie J. Cecil of Rochester, Michigan; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Tom Putnam and Ted Putnam.
He had lived most of his life in and around Gilson, where he graduated from Gilson High School in 1943. He moved to Knoxville in 1976.
He served in the United States Navy during WW II as an airman for four years and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post # 285 in Galesburg.
He was an auto body repairman at the former Strode Garage in Maquon for 40 years. After retiring he worked part-time as a guard at Maytag in Galesburg.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 PM Saturday at the Gilson Cemetery, where Military Rites will also be conducted by American Legion Post #285. Rev. Paul Bickel will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM Saturday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to Heartland Health Care Center.

88, a resident of Care Center of Abingdon died at 11:35 am Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005 at the Care Center.
She was born April 12, 1917 in Abingdon to Elmer and Emma Ethel Ray Jennings. She married Robert H. “Pappy” Sampson on November 12, 1935 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1996.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Howard Sampson, one brother and several grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Robert L. (and Midge) Sampson of Galesburg and Donald (and special friend, Ellen) Sampson of Galesburg; a daughter-in-law, Mary Sampson of RR Galesburg; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a nephew, Bill Jennings of Galesburg..
She had lived in the Abingdon, London Mills and Hermon areas most all her life. She worked as a waitress at Craver’s Restaurant in London Mills. She later worked at the Blue Bell Manufacturing Company in Abingdon, as a cook at the Abingdon Nursing Home and then was a housekeeper for 11 years at the Larson Funeral Home in Abingdon.
She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday at the chapel.
Memorials may be made to Care Center of Abingdon Resident Activity Fund.

87, 1042 Mayberry Lane, Galesburg, IL formerly of Lake Holiday, Somonauk, IL died at 10:40 AM Monday October 24, 2005 in Heartland Health Care Center.
She was born September 10, 1918 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Stanley and Maryanne Ciecierega Ganek. She married Robert E. Klappauf in Chicago on July 19, 1941. He died on February 5, 2005.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeannie (husband Alan) Gaus of Galesburg, IL, two granddaughters, Kristin (husband Nathan) Stallcup of Franklin, TN and Stacey Gaus of Phoenix, AZ and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
She worked in administration and patient advocacy at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, retiring in 1979. She lived in Lake Holiday, Somonauk, IL for 30 years and Galesburg the last 5 years. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Galesburg.
Funeral mass will be 11 AM Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. The Rev. Ernest Pizzamiglio will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 AM Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Entombment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. 80, 800 N. Market St., Knoxville, IL, formerly of 246 E. Third St., Galesburg, IL died at 5:30 AM Monday October 24, 2005 in Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.
He was born March 24, 1925 in Galesburg, the son of George and Vera Fauble Mealman. He married M. Mable Ewing on May 8, 1957 in Galesburg. She died May 18, 1996.
Survivors include his mother, Vera Mealman of Galesburg, two step sons, Danny Clarke and Gerald (wife Anita) Clarke, both of Galesburg, two step daughters, Candy Parton of Galesburg and Debbie (husband Doug) Scherer of Las Vegas, NV, two sisters, Dorothy Brewer of Galesburg and Patty (husband Bill) Lashbrook of Canton, GA, six step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, one son, Tim Mealman in 1990, five brothers, one sister, and one step grandson.
He served in the Army during WWII.
He worked for Butler Manufacturing Company as an electrician for 35 years. He was a member of the Fisherman Club. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 PM Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Military Rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Memorials can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital.

She was born July 31, 1918 in Holliday, IL, the daughter of Ike and Eliza Forquer Fowler. She married Alvin Cobb in 1957 in Princeton, IL. He preceded her in death in 1971.
She is survived by a son, Stephen Cobb, Lincoln, Nebraska, a daughter, Teresa (and Larry) Hankins, Galesburg, 2 brothers, Ike Fowler, Richland Center, Wisconsin and Les Fowler, Goldenrod, Florida, a sister, Opal Miller, Kissimmee, Florida, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
She was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be 11 AM Friday in East Linwood Cemetery. The Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 4, 1923 in Victoria, IL to Claire and J. Marie Timberlake Wilson. She married Andy St. George.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy (and Robert) McCornack of Lebanon, TN and Candy (and Michael) Dawson of Galesburg, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Mary was a registered nurse and an instructor for the Cottage Hospital School of Nursing in Galesburg for several years, retiring in 1986. She graduated from La Harpe High School, La Harpe, IL, in 1941. She also graduated from Cottage Hospital School of Nursing and Monmouth College. She was a member and past president of the Galesburg Pilot Club.
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday October 25, 2005 at East Linwood Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Larsen officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg chapel is in charge of arrangements.

She was born October 3, 1911 in East Galesburg, the daughter of Guy Burl and Frances Muriel Turner Moon. She married Walter P. Martin on November 7, 1936 in Wheaton, IL. He preceded her in death on September 28, 1987.
She is survived by a daughter Rebecca (and Robert) McLennan, Glenview, IL and 2 grandsons, Robert M. (and Beth) McLennan, Evanston, IL and Douglas A. McLennan, Chicago.
She worked in women’s ready-to-wear clothing in Galesburg at Ni-Vel, the Ida Ann Shop, and LaBelle Fashion. She was an avid bridge player and had belonged to the Royal Neighbors of America. Except for childhood years when she lived in New York City and Atlanta, she was a life long resident of Galesburg.
Funeral will be 11 AM Tuesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Trish Madden Baik will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 AM Tuesday at the chapel. She was born November 22, 1909 in Warren County, near Alexis, IL the daughter of James and Florence Watters Wilson. She married Clarence J. Hunt in Galesburg, IL on June 15, 1929. He died on March 23, 1981.
Survivors include two sons, James Hunt of Burlington, IA and Ronald Hunt of Alexis, IL, a niece and a nephew.
She was a homemaker. She loved her home, gardening, animals and helping her husband on the farm. She lived in the Galesburg area her entire life. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1928. She was formerly involved in local community clubs. She was a former member of the Tylerville Methodist Church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday October 22, 2005 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Daniel Siems will officiate.
