40, of 701 Johnson Ave., Knoxville, IL died at 6:30 AM Sunday June 25, 2006 at his home.
He was born October 3, 1965 in Galesburg, IL to Emil E. and Arlene F. Miller DeJaynes. He married Cynthia M. Fenton September 28, 2002 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother, Arlene F. DeJaynes of Galesburg, one son, Kabel E. D. DeJaynes, two daughters, McKenzie C. DeJaynes and Gabrielle M. DeJaynes, all at home, four brothers, Gregory L. (Susan) DeJaynes of Bowling Green, KY, Bryan E. (Shawn) DeJaynes of Galesburg, Barry O. (Kathy) DeJaynes of Galesburg, and Robert M. (Paula) DeJaynes of Oneida, IL and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father on January 5, 1994.
From 1989 to 1993 he and his father owned DJ’s Driving Range in Galesburg. Since 1999 he has worked for Garland Industries in Cleveland, OH as a Territory Manager. He attended Hope Wesleyan Church in Galesburg. He graduated from Galesburg high in 1983 and Bradley University in Peoria, IL in 1987. Paul played baseball for the World Friendship Series in the United States and Europe and the United States Baseball team from 1983 to 1986. He also played baseball for the American Legion Post # 285 in Galesburg. In 1983 Paul declined the draft by the New York Yankees. He played for the Bradley Braves baseball team until 1987. He then was drafted by the Minnesota Twins and played for the Atlanta Braves and California Angels. After his baseball career, he played softball in the Galesburg City league for the Rail City team. He was a Knoxville youth softball coach and devoted many hours to youth baseball giving clinics in the area.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday June 30, 2006 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with the Rev. Brian Sexton officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at the chapel. 90, 303 N. Depot St., Altona, IL died at 10:10 AM Sunday, June 25, 2006 in Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg.
He was born in 1916 in Littleton, IL, the son of Robert C. and Cora M. Horton Runkle. He married Bernadine Kellogg in 1947 in Altona. She preceded him in death in 1974. He then married Jewell Naslund in 1974 in Altona. She preceded him in death in 1984.
He is survived by a son, Robert C. Runkle, Galesburg, 2 step sons, Ronald Naslund, Alpha and Jim Naslund in Iowa, and a step daughter, Elaine LeGrand, Springfield, IL. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Runkle and 2 sisters, Christine Moore and Katherine Stuckey.
He farmed in the Altona area for 35 years and also worked at the former Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 18 years. He retired December 26, 1981.
He graduated from Altona High School in 1934 and attended Chaddock Boys School in Quincy, IL. He was a member of the Altona American Legion.
He served in the United States Army for 3 years during WWII.
Cremation will be accorded. Memorial graveside services will be 11:30 AM Friday at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Leigh Nygard will officiate. There will be no visitation. 65, 327 E. Victoria St., Wataga, IL, died at 6:35 PM Monday, June 26, 2006 in Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg.
He was born November 23, 1940 in Galesburg, the son of Richard A. and Violamae Johnsen Crouse. He married Earlene Engle on October 8, 1960 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Richard A. (and Sheila Stromson) Crouse II, Rio, IL, a sister, Mary Ruth Purchase, Galesburg, a grandson, Cody R. Crouse, Monmouth, 11 nephews, and 9 nieces, including Amy Howard of Galesburg, who was raised by the Crouse’s.
He was a truck driver all of his life, first with Dohrn Transfer and then was self employed. He retired in 1998.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1958. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Wataga. He was a member of the Rio Masonic Lodge #685 in Rio and the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 in Galesburg.
He served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1961.
Funeral will be at 1:30 PM Friday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Sarah Parker will officiate. Masonic services will be held at 5:30 PM Thursday at the chapel, followed by visitation from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Military Rites by Ralph M. He was born November 22, 1931 in Warren County, near Keithsburg, IL, the son of James and Dollie Olive Williams Elliott.
He is survived by 4 sons, 2 daughters, including Tammy (and Albert) Paxton, Galesburg, 4 grandchildren, and 2 brothers, Chauncey Elliott in Missouri and Charles Courson, Galesburg. He was preceded in death by Dorothy Marie Castle Courson, who he shared his life with and a brother, Robert Elliott.
He worked for the City of Galesburg for several years as a driver for the city wide waste removal program. He also was a driver for Jerry Lard Junkyard in Galesburg for several years.

She was born on December 23, 1922 in Peoria, IL to Charles and Agnes Wilson Templeman. She married John W. Bowers in Peoria on June 1, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2003.
She is survived by a son, Donald (and Pam) Bowers of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
She was a homemaker who loved to sew, crochet and bake. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church in Galesburg where she was active in the Women for Missions Group.

She is survived by one son, David R. (and Shirley) Morgan, Tacoma, WA, two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Mary Marie) Gustin, LaFeria, TX and Mrs. Gary (Martha Mae) Shively, Wataga, IL, two brothers, Glenn Heck, Wheaton, IL and John Heck, Los Angeles, CA, two sisters, Mildred Hogan, Springfield, MO and Helen Clark, Plano, TX, eight grandchildren, two step granddaughters, eleven great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Heck.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of the Open Bible.

He was born January 19, 1925 in Mulvane, KS, the son of Russell L. and Ruby Wells Gifford, Sr. He married Margaret L. Hardine on February 5, 1947 in Rock Island, IL. She preceded him in death on June 15, 1999.
He is survived by a son, Russell L. “Russ” Gifford, Galesburg, a daughter, Margo L. (and Gary) Olson, Alexis, IL, a sister, Janet (and Richard) Bland, New Windsor, IL, and 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Amy Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
He was a test engineer for 32 years, working at Midwest Manufacturing, then Admiral Corporation, then Rockwell International, then Magic Chef, and finally becoming Maytag Corporation. He retired in 1988. He also was the owner of the Galesburg Receipt Book Company for several years and the Pinebrook Western Store for over 30 years. He served as a 3rd Ward Alderman for the City of Galesburg from 1971 to 1975 and then from 1991 to present. He was a delegate to the Illinois Constitutional Convention in 1970.
He had lived in Galesburg since 1937 and attended Galesburg schools.
Funeral will be 10 AM Tuesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Elder William Crisman will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Monday at the chapel. She was born on June 16, 1900 near Lockridge in Jefferson County, Iowa to Frank R. and Anna M. (Lindahl) Jacobs. She married George E. Anderson on October 30, 1921 near Fairfield, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and one brother.
Surviving are one son, James (and Grace) Anderson of Tampa, FL; two grandsons, Steven (and Sue) Anderson of Wheaton, IL and Eric (and Patricia) Anderson of Wesley Chapel, FL; three great grandchildren, Natalie, David and Nicolle.
She graduated from high school in Fairfield, IA and attended Brown’s Business College in Galesburg. She worked at the Pioneer Creamery and Rowe Manufacturing in Galesburg and at the American Sanitary Manufacturing Company in Abingdon.
She was a member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church for over seventy years. She was a member of the Abingdon P.E.O. chapter for many years, Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary, and was a volunteer for over 30 years for the American Red Cross Blood Bank.
She was an avid bridge player, gardener and lover of animals of all kinds. She and her husband were longtime members of Lake Bracken Country Club, where they enjoyed golf and picnics at the lake.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday at the Abingdon United Methodist Church. Rev. Paul Dinges will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 am Tuesday at the church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

She was born March 20, 1904 in Rushville, IL, the daughter of Delmur and Sadie Armel Fretueg. She married Charles Jakale in Chicago on May 8, 1937. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1992.
She is survived by one brother, Wayne Fretueg of Muscatine, IA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
She did clerical work for the Continental Bank, A.B. Dick and Western Electric in Chicago. She graduated from Industry High school in 1922. She had lived in Galesburg since the 1980’s. She was of the Protestant faith.
Graveside services will be 1 PM Saturday June 24, 2006 in Rushville Cemetery. The Rev. Mary Arnold will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded. Memorials can be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 2, 1930 in Chicago, the daughter of Hal Renwick and Therese Schwartz Lanning. She married Major (retired) Robert Lee Lindorff on September 10, 1951 at Fort Campbell, KY. He survives.
Also surviving are 4 daughters, Kathryn L. (and Robert) Hubbard, Batavia, IL, Joy L. (and James) Utts, Lake Forest, IL, Lois L. (and John) Mathes, Lake Bracken, Galesburg, IL, and Robin L. (and John) McGee, Quincy, IL, and 6 grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and “Army wife”. She was also an administrative assistant to the Chief of Security at the Veteran’s Administration in Chicago for 6 years. She retired in 1986. She had moved with her family over 40 times, but always wanted to retire to Galesburg.
She graduated from Amundsen High School in 1948 and attended the University of Illinois.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg and its Kindness Circle. She was a member of the Tuscarora Study Club, Galesburg Noon Lioness Club, the Elkettes, and the Shypoke Fishing Club. She was a lifetime member of the Rakkasans Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play bridge, sew, and loved to garden and work with flowers.
Funeral will be 10 AM Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. The Dr. Scott Grulke will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
