Mrs. Neoma Marie Baldwin, Abingdon Chapel

of Abingdon, died on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Care Center of Abingdon.  She was born on May 29, 1937 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard Leroy and Margaret Gertrude Webb Ortery.

She leaves behind six children Edward (Paulette) Baldwin of Monmouth, Debora (Richard) Gibbons of Knoxville, Leona German of Alexis, Margaret Fields of Galesburg, Paula King (Paul) of McLeansville, North Carolina, and Roy (Crystal) Baldwin, Madison, Tennessee. She also had 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Doren Martin Baldwin, her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

She was a homemaker and loved baking cakes. She enjoyed music and spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren (of which she was so proud of). She always said “when life gives you lemons…make lemonade!” Her words of wisdom, spunkiness, and sense of humor will be greatly missed but know she will be with daddy again in heaven.

As she requested, cremation will be accorded.  There will be a private service held at a later date.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Debora Gibbons in c/o Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel, 206 N Washington St., Abingdon, Illinois 61410.
