85, of 800 N. Market St., Knoxville, IL (formerly of 433 Phillips St. Galesburg, IL) died at 12:35 AM Saturday (7-24-04) at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, IL.
She was born October 23, 1918 in Pittsburgh, PA to William and Janette Castor Hurst. She married Hubert C. Crump September 11, 1949 in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death October 31, 1993.
She is survived by 1 son â€\” David E. (his wife Gaila) Crump of Wataga, IL; 2 daughters â€\” Claudia Cochran of Okalahoma City, OK, and Mary B. Sweeney of Highwood, IL; and 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She was a substitute teacher in District 205 for 20 years and retired in 1985. She is an active member and a Sunday school teacher of Hope Wesleyan Church in Galesburg, IL. She was a 4-H leader for 10 years in Galesburg, IL. She is a Galesburg High graduate. She received her BA degree from Knox College in Galesburg, IL and her Masters degree from University of Illinois in Champaign, IL.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday (7-29-04) at Hope Wesleyan Church in Galesburg with the Rev. Brian Sexton officiating. Visitation will be 6:30 â€\” 7:30 PM Wednesday (7-27-04) at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, IL. Memorials can be made to the Hope Wesleyan church.
