Mrs. Mary Keith McKinnon, Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home, Macomb

61, 427 S. Campbell St., died at 2:28 a.m. Friday (Jan. 28, 2005) in McDonough District Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1943, in Galesburg, the daughter of Keith O. and Marion A. Anderson Peterson. She married Jack McKinnon on April 9, 1977, in Galesburg.
Surviving are her husband; a brother, George (and Diane) Peterson, Galesburg; a nephew, Erick (and Heidi) Peterson, Des Moines, Iowa; a niece, Erin (and John) Woodward, Chicago; and two great-nieces, Avery Olivia Woodward and Morgan Marie Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was an activity therapist at the former Galesburg Mental Health Center, a health occupation teacher at LaHarpe High School, an intensive care nurse and emergency room nurse at Burlington Medical Center, director of nursing at Colchester Nursing Home, director of nursing at LaHarpe Hospital, an emergency room registered nurse at McDonough District Hospital for more than 20 years, and also a trauma nurse specialist. She helped implement the McDonough District Hospital Pro’s Program, and also was a Behavioral Health Counselor at McDonough District. She was a displayer for Home Interior and Gifts.
She was a member of First Christian Church pf Macomb, where she was a senior high Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 31, 2005 at First Christian Church, Macomb, with Rev. Steven Workman officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home, Macomb. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital or First Christian Church of Macomb.
