89, formerly of 1751 Indiana Dr., Galesburg, IL Died Friday May 13, 2005 at 7:30 PM at the Kahl Home Davenport, IA.
He was born February 6, 1916 in Galesburg, IL the son of John W. and Elizabeth M. Kell Wright. He married Virgieline M. “Virgie” Cederberg in Galesburg, IL on November 28, 1940. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2002.
Surviving are one daughter Nancy J. Bach and one grandson Jeffrey B. Bach-both of Davenport, IA. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1936. He worked for the Burlington-Northern Railroad formerly the C.B. & Q. Railroad as a conductor for 45 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church where he served as an usher, the United Transportation Union, Galesburg Railroad Museum, and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Frederick Larner officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Railroad Museum, Knox County Humane Society, or the First Lutheran Church.
