Mrs. Harriet Jane Thorsen, Galesburg Chapel

80, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday evening, March 22, 2006 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born June 8, 1925 in Rushville, the daughter of Otis and Eleanor Guthrie Cameron. She married Donald E. Thorsen on Aug. 22, 1942 in Kahoka, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1997.
She is survived by three daughters, Kay Hillman of Decatur, Carol (husband, Tom) Davis of Chicago and Jane (husband, Tom) Breen of Jacksonville; two sons, Thor (wife, Marilyn) Thorsen and Todd (wife, Nancy) Thorsen, both of Jacksonville; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray (wife, Midge) Cameron and Charles (wife, Lois) Cameron, both of Galesburg; and one sister, Sandra (husband, David) Murphy of Princeville.
Harriet worked for many years in downtown Jacksonville at Irwin’s Clothing Store, and later at Lukeman’s. She was a member and Past-President of the Democratic Women’s Club. A mother and grandmother, Harriet will be remembered for her love of family, sense of humor, great family meals, being a devoted Cubs and Bears fan, and for being a lifelong Democrat.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel in Galesburg, with burial at East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Modern Care Nursing Home-Recreational Activities Department in Jacksonville
