Mr. Gary R. Folger , Galesburg Chapel
58, of 1132 S. Pearl St. Galesburg IL died at 2:40 AM Saturday May 6, 2006 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center Galesburg.
He was born July 18, 1947 in Galesburg the son of Willis E. and Wilma M. Hanna Folger. He married Carol Miller in Knoxville. He later married Connie E. Wells in Knoxville, IL on December 1, 1972. She survives.
Also survives is his mother Wilma M, Folger of Knoxville IL; three sons Ronald (wife Alice) Folger of Galesburg, Chris (wife Tammy) Folger of Galesburg and Jeff (wife Shelly) Folger of Deltona, FL; one twin brother Larry D. (wife Judith) Folger of Galesburg, three grandchildren, three step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, several aunts and uncles and two nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
He was a truck driver for the former 3 I Truck Lines now called CRST Truck Lines in Eldridge IA for 12 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and working on cars. He lived in Galesburg most his life and attended Knoxville school.
Funeral services are scheduled for 7 PM Tuesday May 9, 2006 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Todd Henderson will officiate. Visitation will be 5:30-7:00 PM at the chapel. We were sorry to learn of Gary’s death, we learned of it when we attended the benefit they had for him. He will be sorely missed.
I’ve known the family for many years and was saddened to hear of Gary’s death.
