Mr. Larry R. Crouse, Galesburg Chapel

65, 327 E. Victoria St., Wataga, IL, died at 6:35 PM Monday, June 26, 2006 in Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg.
He was born November 23, 1940 in Galesburg, the son of Richard A. and Violamae Johnsen Crouse. He married Earlene Engle on October 8, 1960 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Richard A. (and Sheila Stromson) Crouse II, Rio, IL, a sister, Mary Ruth Purchase, Galesburg, a grandson, Cody R. Crouse, Monmouth, 11 nephews, and 9 nieces, including Amy Howard of Galesburg, who was raised by the Crouse’s.
He was a truck driver all of his life, first with Dohrn Transfer and then was self employed. He retired in 1998.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1958. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Wataga. He was a member of the Rio Masonic Lodge #685 in Rio and the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 in Galesburg.
He served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1961.
Funeral will be at 1:30 PM Friday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Sarah Parker will officiate. Masonic services will be held at 5:30 PM Thursday at the chapel, followed by visitation from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Military Rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Memorials can be made to an education fund for his grandson, Cody Crouse in care of Anderson State Bank in Oneida, IL. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
