Miss Helen E. Tary, Galesburg Chapel
80, of 1267 S. Cherry St., Galesburg, IL died at 8:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2008 at her home.
She was born on October 4, 1927 in Keithsburg, IL to Scott and Grace Clark Tary.
She is survived by a nephew, Scott Holloway of Galesburg and a niece, Bonnie Holloway of Decatur, IL. She was preceded in death by a brother James Tary and four sisters Louise Tary, Margaret Holloway, Jean Walters, and Wilma Powless.
She began working for Rogers Brothers in 1953. She retired in December, 2007.
She was a 1944 graduate of Keithsburg High School, a member of the First United Methodist Church and an avid bingo player.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 26, 2008 in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg. Visitation will be from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 25, 2008 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorial may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
When I worked for District 205 and ordered food from Rogers Brothers, Helen was the one to ask for. She was always so kind and helpful. What a long career she had there and was so knowledgable when it came to filling orders.
May the family find peace in the love of God as they go through the time of burial and parting.
