Mr. Larry “Recap” Olen Osborne, Sr., Abingdon Chapel

osborne-larry-photo.jpg67 of 369 Pine St., Galesburg died at noon Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg.
He was born on December 16, 1941 in Cave in Rock, IL, a son of Roy Ivan and Lexi (Dixon) Osborne. He married Peggy Sue Tracy on September 15, 1967. He later married Christina Lynn Wilkins on August 12, 1971 at the Abingdon United Methodist Church. He then married Sherry Maxine Quinn on August 2, 1994 at the Lincoln Park Gazebo in Galesburg.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sherry; his sons, Larry (and Gretchen) Osborne, Jr. of Abingdon and Jim (and Kasey) Osborne of Knoxville; his stepchildren, Jason (and Tiffany) Quinn of Enfield, IL, Nathan (and Cassy) Jackson of McLeansboro, IL, Danielle Jackson and Shawn Jackson both of Galesburg; 7 grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Osborne, Sr. and Dale Osborne both of Carmi, IL; two sisters, Lanita Bartley and Loretta Castleberry both of Carmi, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Larry had lived in Galesburg area since 1964. He worked at Builders Supply/Gunther Construction.
He played lead guitar and enjoyed music very much. Larry also liked bowling and watching wrestling.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Abingdon Cemetery. Rev. Gary Bane will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.

    I am so sorry for your loss, I very much enjoyed taking care of Larry at home and meeting all your family. Larry was truly a joy to take care of and I am so glad I got to know him and all his family. I will miss coming to see him, he always made me smile.
