Mr. Randy Robert Raymond, Galesburg Chapel

raymond-_1.jpg49, 336 Ohio Ave, Galesburg died at 3:22 PM Monday May 25, 2009 in the University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago.
He was born July 26, 1959 in Galesburg the son of Robert E. and Karen F. Sopher Raymond.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Morris; one brother, Steven Raymond; and two sisters, Julie (and Jerry) Mackey and Angela (and Will) Mahnesmith, all of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Jeffrey Raymond.
Randy worked as a roofer for ten years. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1977 and attended Carl Sandburg College. He enjoyed Indian artifact collecting, hunting, and fishing among other interests.
Graveside service will be 3 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in Westfall Cemetery, near Victoria. Visitation will be 1:30 to 2:30 PM Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.

    I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. While working at Giant Foods, first on Fremont and later on East Main, I knew you and Sharon and your families were customers we could count on. I enjoyed watching as all the children grew up and I share in your sorrow.

    I was shocked and saddened by the loss of Randy. Randy was a unique and individual person who was loved and will be missed by many!! No words can heal the sorrow your feeling now. Just remember that your like family to me and Carmen and we would do anything for you at this time. ( I keep thinking back years ago when none of really had any close family so we had thanksgiving togethor!! Seems like yesterday!! Your in my thoughts and prayers and just remember as always i’m only a phone call away. love you all!!

  3. Dear Aunt Karen, Steve, Angie and Julie:

    I was so shocked to hear from Mom last night about Randy. I am so sorry! Please know that no matter what difficulties our families have had in the past, I love you and think of you often.

    I use to work right across the street from Uof I Hospital in Chicago. I lived straignt down Taylor street for several years. Now I am about 40 miles north of Chicago.

    My prayers and thoughts are with you now and always.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I remember so many good times with Randy and all of you. Karen I remember you, Chris, & myself carpooling to work together at the Galesburg Mental Health Center. Why was I the only one marked as “late” out of that group? I remember when Randy stayed with Chris, the Children, and myself when we lived in Gilson. He was always willing to do anything for anybody. He truly enjoyed living. May God now grant eternal peace to his soul. May Gog bless you all and keep you close in your time of sorrow.
