70, of 1598 N. Prairie St., Galesburg died at 2:34 AM Friday June 12, 2009 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born September 16, 1938 in Chicago, IL the son of John and Martha Jozwiak Machura. He married Nancy McNichols in Chicago in 1970. She survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Ann in 1983, two brothers and one sister.
He served as an officer for three years in the United States Navy.
He worked as an insurance underwriter for 40 years, retiring in May 2002. He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1956 and Dartmouth College in 1960. He was a member of the St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Chicago. Tom enjoyed reading the history of World War II. He loved classical music, mainly Mahler. He walked three miles a day until he became ill.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 10134 S. Longwood Drive, Chicago. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday June 17, 2009 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Prayer service will be at 7:00 PM with Rev. Joseph Presley.
