Mrs. Maxine J. “Jackie” Jobe
84, of 1599 Moshier Ave., Galesburg, IL died at 4:32 PM, Wednesday, October 23, 2002 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
She was born January 30, 1918 in Galesburg, IL to Ray Ellsworth and Ivy May (Grammont) Macklin. She married Paul V. Jobe on February 4, 1965 in Rock Island, IL. He survives.
Also surviving is a son, William J. (and Nola) Knowles of Portland, OR, a stepson, Paul “Nick” (and Sue) Jobe of Walnut Creek, CA, a step daughter, Vickie Kammerman in Illinois, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
She was a homemaker who had lived in Galesburg most of her life. She was a member of the Women’s Relief Corp and had served as its department president from 1976 to 1978 and from 1985 to 1986. She was a member of the White Shrine, Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 Auxiliary, and the Ladies of the Moose Lodge 880.
Private family graveside services will be Saturday October 26, 2002 in Rio (IL) Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Derick Bacon officiating. Memorials can be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission and Women’s Shelter. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
