He was born October 23, 1931 in Galesburg, IL to Carl W. and Amelia H. (Ascher) Hallstrom. He married Martha J. Huddle in Galesburg, IL on October 28, 1966. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Timothy W. Hallstrom of Bloomington, IL, a daughters, Mrs. Kalub (Kathryn Jane) McGruder of Macomb, IL, a brother, Carl E. (and Glenda) Hallstrom of Lanark Village, FL and a sister, Mrs. Russell (Mary Arlene) Rose of El Paso, TX..
He worked for Maytag Corp. for 42 years as an Engineering Artist, retiring in 1997. He was owner of Video Visions by Hallstrom for 10 years. He was a 1949 graduate of Galesburg High School and attended Browns Business College in Galesburg.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and O.P.E.I.U. Local #444 at Maytag and a former Director at Midwest Credit Union. He served in the Air Force for four years during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday February 13, 2003 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Siems officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery where military honors will be provided by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Knox County Humane Society.
