Mr. Jeffrey J. Flicek, Galesburg Chapel

flicek-jeff.jpg49, of Altona, Ill., died at 5 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012 north of Morrison, Ill.
He was born July 24, 1962 in Ada, Minn. the son of James and Gladys Taylor Flicek. He married Donna Danforth on October 24, 1992 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; his mother, Gladys Flicek of Berwick, Ill.; a son, Eddie McGee of Altona; two daughters, Debra (and Cory) Nussear of Cambridge, Ill. and Jenni McGee of Galesburg; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Jerome Flicek of Berwick and John (and Lisa) Flicek of Cameron, Ill.; and two sisters, Denise Basley of Galesburg and Diane (and Sam) Adkisson of Roseville, Ill. He was preceded in death by his father.
Jeffrey was owner/operator of Risen Sun Milk Truck Company, serving the Cambridge and Altona areas. He also owned and operated Flicek Belgian Ltd.
He graduated from Roseville High School in 1981. He was a member of First Christian Church of Galesburg. Jeffrey was a lifetime member of the Draft Horse Association and was a volunteer firefighter in Altona. He loved his grandchildren and his horses.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. M.J. Fitch will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Foundation or to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.

    We are sorry for your loss – we only knew of Jeff through seeing him with his horses at Walnut Grove farm during Scenic Drive and the Thanksgiving weekend there. Our children love taking the hayride around, and he was always so kind. He always answered any question about the horses, and let the kids pet them. That small contact over the years made an impression on our family, and prayers are with you all who were fortunate to know him better.
