Mrs. Joan C. DeRudder, Abingdon Chapel
age 74 of Abingdon and formerly of Bushnell and originally from Chicago, died at 11:05 pm Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
She was born on June 27, 1937 in Chicago, the daughter of Stanley and Stella (Jukiates) Lesniewski. She married Clark DeRudder on July 15, 1957 in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Joseph DeRudder and three grandsons.
Joan is survived by one son, Raymond DeRudder of Bushnell; three daughters, Ruth Smith and Susan Paul both of Abingdon and Joan Wilson of Elgin; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray (Jan) Lesniewski of Aurora and Lawrence (and Susan) Lesniewski of Paducah, Kentucky; one sister, Patricia Zadakus of Oak Lawn.
She had lived in Abingdon the past two months with her daughters and prior to that in Bushnell and Chicago. She was of the Catholic faith. She worked as a CNA and was a homemaker. She enjoyed making cakes and decorating them. She also enjoyed crocheting and going to the river boats.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 pm Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel followed by a graveside service at the Abingdon Cemetery. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate.
