He will be sorely missed….but he is now making a “joyful noise” in heaven with the most wonderful choir ever! He is always in your heart and in the songs you will sing…we love you!

    To the family of Richard L. ‘Rick’ Carroll

    Once again we find ourselves bowed down in humble submission to the divine will of almighty God.
    Be assured that the passing of your loved one was his will and that all things done by him are not to be doubted even through we don’t understand.
    We hope that these few words will comfort you in the tomorrow’s to come.

    There is promise in each sunrise.
    There is hope for each new day;
    There’s a sunbeam for each raindrop,
    There is help along the way.
    There is faith for all life’s problems,
    There is strength for the trials you face,
    There is mercy and compassion,
    Even in life’s darkest place.
    That makes all life’s sorrows dim.
    When you place your hand in God’s hand,
    And walk life’s path with him.

    We, the Pastor and Members know that he will be missed.

  14. My sympathies to all of Rick’s family and friends — I am so very sorry for your loss. Rick was one of my students at Carl Sandburg College. What a pleasure it was to have him in my class and be a part of watching him absorb himself in his educational experiences. We would talk frequently as he put his new found knowledge to use. Every time I have seen him since, he always greeted me so warmly and always seemed so genuinely happy. I know he left a positive impact on everyone who crossed paths with him. What a blessing he was to others through his music. My prayers are with you.

  15. Nona and all of Rick’s family, I’m so sorry for your loss. When I think of Rick, I smile, we had many years of great conversations and laughs. Be thankful for the memories Rick gave all of us. You have my deepest sympathies.

    Rick was a very a special loving person. Sorry we did not look on Facebook to follow up and to see how he was doing. We now know that he is cancer free and is helping the Lord. We are sure he is singing there too. Hope this finds you holding in there Nona. We will continue keeping you in our prayer.
