Mr. Gary Bell

60, of 2404 Carol Drive Galesburg, IL, died at 8:29 AM Sunday November 25, 2001 at his home.
He was born on February 16, 1941 in Burlington IA to Paul Gilbert and Belva (Brewer) Bell.
He is survived by his mother, Belva Bell of Stronghurst, IL; three sons, Daryl Bell of Galesburg, IL, Montgomery Bell and Samuel Bell, both of Chicago, IL; a daughter, Carolyn Streeter of Galva, IL; two brothers, Charles Bell of Stronghurst, IL and David Bell of Oquawka, IL: a sister, Dessa Rodeffer of Stronghurst, Il; a special friend with whom he shared his home, Teresa Tinkham of Galesburg, IL and three grandchildren.
He first worked at the former First National Bank from 1968-1973. He owned and operated the Galesburg Shopper from 1973-1987, then owned Bell Publishing from 1987-1992. He later owned Manchester Construction Company from 1992 to present. He graduated from Stronghurst High School in 1959 and Carl Sandburg College.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285 and the PBOE Elks Lodge #894. He served in the US Marine Corp from 1959-1963 as Corporal.
His funeral will be 10:00 AM Thursday November 29, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Jim Stovall officiating. Burial will be in South Henderson Cemetery, Biggsville IL. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday November 28, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.
