A. Louise Ogundipe

Mrs. A. Louise Ogundipe, 77, of Galesburg, died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born November 27, 1939, in Freestone County, Texas, the daughter of Bib and Alice (Mosley) Durham. She married Emmanuel A. “Manny” Ogundipe on July 21, 1972 in Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Manny; her son, Eric (Jewel) Ogundipe of Dorchester, Nebraska; five sisters, Bennie Carrington, Hazel Johnson, Fannie Price, Irene Wright, and Ruthie (Bennie) Cook, all of Dallas; her two grandchildren, Danica M. and Soren A. Ogundipe and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Louise was raised and educated in Texas, where she graduated from Ash Creek High School in Pelham in 1962. She has lived in Galesburg since 1975. She took classes at Carl Sandburg College. Louise worked at Galesburg Cottage Hospital for 30 years as a unit secretary, retiring in 2006. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed fishing and going to the River Boat Casinos. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services are schedule for 10 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Johnnie Trammell Goodson will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
