Miss Joyce Lorraine Wuehle

Miss Joyce Lorraine Wuehle, 86, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg. 

She was born April 29, 1932 in Hampton, Illinois to Edwin H. and Alma C. Buehler Wuehle. 

Surviving is a sister, Janice Willard of Davenport, Iowa, eight nieces and nephews, Sue (and Tom) Palm of Cordova, Illinois, Tina (and Gary) Rodden of Olathe, Kansas, Dawn (and Mark) Durham of Walnut, Illinois, Kimberly (and Gregg) Atenen of Naperville, Illinois, Randy (and Debbie) Wuehle of Stone City, Iowa, Donna (and Dave) Andresen of Stoddard, Wisconsin, Michelle Wuehle (and Joe) of Polynesian Islands and Marty Wuehle of Michigan and several great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Edwin, Marvin and Donald Wuehle and two nephews, Larry and David Frits. 

Joyce graduated from Port Byron High School, Port Byron, Illinois in 1950.  She then received her bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois Teacher’s College, Macomb, Illinois and a master’s degree from University of Illinois, Champaign, Illinois.  She was a home economics teacher at Galesburg High School for over 30 years.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Galesburg.  She won many awards at hand applique’ quilting.  Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Rev. Frank Langholf will officiate.  Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at the chapel.  Cremation will follow the service.  Private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Knox County Y.M.C.A. or to Carl Sandburg College.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
