He was born February 4, 1951 in Macomb, the son of William Roy “Bud” Pieper and Mary Smith Pieper.  He married Linda Cowan on January 11, 1974 at the Cowan family farm north of Abingdon.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Linda; two sons, Joe Edward (and Ginny) Pieper and Jake William (and Charity) Pieper all of Abingdon; four grandchildren, Chelsea, Devin, Morgan and Brooklyn, two great-granddaughters, Hadley and Aubrey and one great-grandson on the way, Corbin; one brother, Roy E. Pieper of Berwick; one sister, Patricia A. (and Junior) Bishop of Berwick; and nieces, nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
