Mr. Dale A. Freberg

Mr. Dale A. Freberg, 70 of Galesburg passed away at 10:58 am Friday, November 22, 2019 at his home.

He was born February 11, 1949 the son of V. Allen and Eleanor I. Pumfrey Freberg. He married Janet Osberg on September 1, 1973 in Galesburg.

Dale is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jan; his two daughters, Kristie (Todd) Parkins of Springfield, Illinois and Andrea (Brian Cunningham) Freberg of Memphis, Tennessee; his two sons, Erik (Shelley) Freberg and Scott Freberg (Sue Ani) both of Columbia, South Carolina; his six grandchildren, Paige, Drew, Kaiden and Lauren Parkins of Springfield and Grayson and Kiera Freberg of Columbia, South Carolina; his brother, John (Lois) Freberg of Oneida, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Dale was a lifelong farmer at heart but also worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural route postal carrier for over 20 years, retiring in 2017. Dale volunteered his time for over 30 years with the Henderson Fire Department. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1967 and served in the Army National Guards for 6 years. Dale was raised in the Lutheran Faith. His pride and joy was his 1972 Cuda that he bought new and restored in recent years. He loved taking it to car shows and had won numerous awards. Dale loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren. He was a good friend and will be missed by many.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:30 am Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at East Linwood Cemetery. His friend, Michael Crummer will officiate services. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 am Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.
