Dan W. Sauter, 68, of Wataga, died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019 in Unity Point Health-Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born July 15, 1950, in Galesburg, the son of Carl W. and Frances M. (Tucker) Sauter. He married Patricia Lytle on June 1, 1974, in Galesburg.
He is survived by two sons, Kyle (Laura) Sauter and Kevin Sauter, both of Peoria; three grandchildren, Kenley Sauter, Kaiden Sauter, and Wrigley Sauter; a sister, Rita (Ron) Hunter of Carmel, Indiana; and his best friend, Randy Larson of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dan has owned and operated The End Zone Bar and Grill in Woodhull for the past 22 years. He graduated from Galesburg High School and Brown’s Business College. Dan was an avid golfer, playing on leagues and independently.
He served in the Army National Guard Reserves.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Private family graveside service will be Wednesday in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Frank Langholf will officiate.
