Mr. Edward T. "Ed" Sanderson

Mr. Edward T. “Ed” Sanderson, 75, of Galesburg, Illinois died 6:30 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at his home. 

He was born July 17, 1943 in Port Huron, Michigan to William T. and Lora L. Starrick Sanderson.  He married Helen L. Agee January 15, 1966 in Park Forest, Illinois.  She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Mitchell T. and (Geri Jean) Sanderson of Granite City, Illinois, and Matthew B. (and Lissa) Sanderson of North Yarmouth, Maine, a daughter, Margaret A. (and Frank) Kuhn of Plainfield, Illinois, a sister, Pat Sharrow of Port Huron, Michigan, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nancy Bolman and Marsha Davis. 

Ed graduated from Port Huron High School in 1963.  He was a plant superintendent for MetalCoaters MS in Jackson, Mississippi for 14 years and retired October 14, 2008.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Galesburg and was the former trustee.  He was a member of the “Been There Done That” church group.  Ed enjoyed woodworking and traveling and loved spending time with his family. 

As Ed has requested, cremation will be accorded.  A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Rev. Vince Rohn and Rev. Mary Runge will officiate.  Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the chapel.  Memorials in Ed’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
