Mr. Frank Rice Obituary

Mr. Frank H. Rice, 91, of Galesburg, Illinois (formerly of Cameron) died 3:42 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. 

He was born December 13, 1927 in Herman, Illinois to Charles and Edna (McBeth) Rice.  He married Mary Elaine Brush March 21, 1948 in Granite City, Illinois.  She survives. 

Also surviving is a son Steven C. (and Janet) Rice of Silvis, Illinois, three daughters, Kathy (and Bill) Thomas of Oquawka, Illinois, Janet Richardson of Galesburg, and Mary Ann (and Dave) Nelson of Galesburg, nine grandchildren, five step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Charles Richardson. 

Frank was a caster at Briggs Manufacturing Company in Abingdon for 40 years and retired in 1990.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1949 and was stationed in Italy for one year.  He was a member of Cameron Christian Church.  He enjoyed woodworking, camping, square dancing, traveling, bowling and playing chess. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Memorials in Frank’s name may be made to the Cameron Christian Church.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
