Mr. Gary Lee Denniston Obituary

Gary Lee Denniston, 71 of Galesburg, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg.

He was born December 19, 1947 in Galesburg, the son of Donald A. and Norma (Legge) Denniston.

Gary is survived by his children, Duane (and Donna) Denniston of Tampa, Florida, Dottie (and Rodney) White of Galesburg, Eric Denniston, Hydee Denniston, Donald Denniston, James Kilgore and Phillip Kilgore all of Galesburg; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (and Jackie) Denniston of Victoria; and two sisters, Donna (and Miles) Wheatley of Texas and Betty Jo (and Michael) Garrett of Victoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1963.  He had lived in Galesburg and Wataga.  He worked as a truck mechanic and driver and later operated G.D. Truck Repair.  He also worked at Alexis Fire Equipment, retiring in 2012.  His hobbies were working on trucks, fishing and camping.

As he requested, cremation will be accorded and no services will be held.  The family would like to thank Aunt Donna Wheatley for being there for our father and us for the last 2 ½ years of his life. 

Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with his arrangements.
