Gene Louderman, 85, of Galesburg, died at 2:25 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2018, in the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.
He was born May 14, 1933, in Macomb, the son of Jess and Clela (Morgan) Louderman. He married Joyce Watters on September 27, 1952 in Central Congregational Church of Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Joyce; four children, Sharon (Bob) Lee of Galesburg, Stephen (Lynn) Louderman of Galesburg, Cindy Tappeiner of Galesburg, and Shelly Payne of Monmouth; eight grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe Louderman.
Gene served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1955. He worked at Admirals for 10 years. He then worked at Gates Rubber Company, where he was a supervisor for 32 years before retiring in 1995. Gene was a hard worker, who had many part-time jobs along with his full-time job. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life is being planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
