Mr. Howard Muir Obituary

Howard Muir, 77 of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of Abingdon, passed away Friday evening, August 30, 2019 at the Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born June 29, 1942 in Canton, the son of Harold and Emma (Utzinger) Muir. He married Nancy Carol Johnson on September 3, 1971 in Canton.  She preceded him in death on June 21, 2018.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Howard is survived by three sons, John Muir of Noblesville, Indiana, Carl (and Leigh) Muir of Noblesville, Indiana, and Brian Muir of Rock Island; 6 grandchildren, Ashley, Zak, Madison, Zach, Avary and Liam and 3 great-grandchildren, Grace, Parker and Maddux; two sisters, Barbara Glisan of Bushnell and Martha (and Larry) Paul of Lexington, Kentucky.

Howard grew up in the Bushnell area.  He lived most of his adult life in Abingdon.  He worked at the Briggs Manufacturing in Abingdon for 28 years, retiring in 2000.  His hobbies included fishing, assembling model cars, plastic canvas crafts and working find a word puzzles.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel followed by graveside services at the Wiley Cemetery in Fulton County with Rev. Danny Hunt officiating.
