Howard O. Wilson, 85, of Galesburg, died at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018, in the Roseville Rehab and Health Care Center.
He was born January 23, 1933, in Prairie City, the son of Ghlee and Louise (Effingham) Wilson. He married Mary Westberg on November 20, 1970, in Galesburg. She preceded him in death April 28, 2018.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Wilson of Deland, Florida and Mark (Cathy) Wilson of Galesburg; a daughter-in-law, Nona Carroll of Galesburg; several step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Janet Wilson of Galesburg. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Rick Carroll; two brothers, Larry and Harold Wilson; and two sisters, Martha Talbert and Betty Britton.
Howard worked for Gale Products for 17 years and Lake Point Condos in Minnesota, before returning to Galesburg in March of 1994. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1951. He was a member of First Church of God.
Howard served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Friday, July 6, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
