Mr. Irvin D. Masters

Mr. Irvin D. Masters, 81, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 4:46 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois.

He was born on April 19, 1937 in Galesburg the son of Clinton and Hortence Johnson Masters. He married K. Jean Dinsmore on July 5, 1964 at Bethel Baptist Church, Galesburg.

Irv is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean of Galesburg; his son, Paul D. (Lisa) Masters of Troy, Illinois; his daughter, Anne Masters of Springfield, Illinois a brother, Marvin (and Helen) Masters of Galesburg and three grandsons, Colton Dean, Brett Harrison and Andrew Wyatt Masters. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marjorie Derry and her husband, Eldon.

Irv worked in the paint shop and maintenance department at Admiral/Maytag Corporation for over 40 years, retiring in 1995. After his retirement he continued working odd jobs, such as mowing and taking trips for Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home. He attended Harmony Baptist Church.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Chris Nissley will officiate services. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
