Mr. Jesse Raso Cabrera

Jesse Raso Cabrera, 85, of Galesburg, died at 5:28 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in Seminary Manor.

He was born June 1, 1933, in Galesburg, the son of Frutosa and Soledad (Raso) Cabrera.  He married Wanda James in 1956.  He later married Evelyn G. Woollums on July 25, 1981, in Las Vegas.  They both preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Tony) Woode and Sandra (Matt) Knouse, both of Tipton, Iowa; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and five sisters.

Jesse worked at Farmland Foods in Monmouth for several years.  He lived in Galesburg his entire life.  He was of the Catholic faith.  Jesse was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  

Jesse served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.  He served in Korea.

Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Graveside service will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Jim Ecklund will officiate and military honors will be conducted.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Defenders of Freedom Veterans Home.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
