Mr. Robert Allen Hendrickson

Mr. Robert Allen Hendrickson, 73, of Galesburg died at 10:31 pm Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Cottage Hospital.

He was born August 9, 1944 in Colchester, Illinois the son of John Robert and Marian Hornbaker Hendrickson. He married Marilyn D. McCord on August 9, 1963 in Macomb, Illinois.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marilyn of Galesburg; his three sons, Robert Todd (Christine) Hendrickson of Galesburg, Tyler S. (Emily) Hendrickson of Sachse, Texas and Spencer J.D. (Shyanne) Hendrickson of Galesburg; his daughter, Tara K. Hendrickson of Galesburg; his mother, Marian Hendrickson and his sister, Mary Ann Curtis both of Arlington, Texas and twelve grandchildren, Samuel, Taylor, Dallas, Dan, William, Jesse, Madeline, Giselle, William, Wyatt, Amelia and Boyd. He is preceded in death by his father.

Robert was a physics and mathematics teacher for over 30 years, retiring in 2009. He taught at Galesburg High School, Carl Sandburg College and Peoria Notre Dame. He graduated from Colchester High School in 1962 and Western Illinois University in 1969 with his Masters.  He has lived in Galesburg since 1973. Robert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as Bishop for five years and taught Seminary at the church for several years. He was a member of the (EAA) Experimental Aircraft Association. 

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Brother David Mahoney will officiant. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, February 9, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Galesburg. Burial will be in Colchester Cemetery, Colchester.
