Robert M. “Bob” Randall, 87, of Galesburg, died at 9:51 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. 

He was born December 8, 1929, in Avon, Illinois, the son of Emma Randall.  He married Mabelann Altheide on October 17, 1953, in Galesburg. 

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann; two daughters, Rhonda (and Kenneth) Hendon and Jeani (and Mark) Talbott, both of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Josh (and Katie) Hendon, Jacob (and Ashley) Hendon, Connor Talbott, and Lauren Talbott; two great granddaughters, Adalyn Hendon and Brynn Hendon, a brother, Junior (and Sue) Wilson of Knoxville, Illinois; and two sisters.  He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister. 

Bob was an appliance repairman for 50 years.  He worked for Black Brothers Hardware for 10 years, Sears Roebuck for 30 years, and then owned and operated Randall Appliance Repair for 10 years before retiring.  Bob was raised and educated in Avon, where he graduated from Avon High School in 1949.  He was affiliated with Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg.  He served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Korea for 19 months.  He was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.  Bob took pride in his yard and spent a lot of time maintaining things around his house.  He enjoyed fishing and loved his dog, Boscoe.  He loved his family and always looked forward to Christmas when everyone would all be together.  

Cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the chapel.  Following the service, military honors will be provided by VFW 2257/Legion 285 Honor Guard.  Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
