Mr. Rodney Wilson, I

Mr. Rodney Wilson, I, 65, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 2:55 am Friday, April 5, 2019 at Heartland Health Care Center.

Rodney was born July 1, 1953 in Galesburg the son of AZ and Ocie Edmond Wilson. He married Diane Coleman and together they had a son, Rodney Wilson II. He was later in a long term relationship with Marcia Stewart,  they had a son, Ryan Wilson. Rodney then married Annette Pitman on June 28, 2013 in Galesburg and together they had a daughter, Raynee Jo Louise Wilson.

He is survived by his mother, Ocie Wilson of Galesburg; his wife, Annette of Galesburg; two sons, Rodney (Cymonda) Wilson II of Pembroke Pines, Florida and Ryan (Amanda) Wilson of Galesburg; his daughter, Raynee Jo Louise Wilson of Galesburg; four sisters, Lena Stanley of Galesburg, Molly (Harry) Patterson of Atlanta, Georgia, Maggie (Raymond) Cropp and Beatrice (Larry) Farmer both of Galesburg;  five grandchildren, Kaidence Wilson, Rodney Nafese Wilson, Ryan Kendryk Wilson, Kenneth Maasai Wilson and Akai Zander Dean Wilson and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and one sister, Louise Piggee.

Rodney worked for BNSF Railroad as a hostler for over 36 years. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1971 and attend college in West Kentucky. Rodney was a member of the W.L. Darrow Masonic Lodge #10. He was a local chairperson for local UTU #1423. Rodney served as a board member, as well as coached and umpired for youth basketball and baseball over 30 years for the Carver Center. He enjoyed playing pool and softball on various leagues. One of Rodney’s favorite past times was serving as President for the Party Time Riders motorcycle club.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 AM Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
