Mr. Ronald Brush, 85, of Galesburg, Illinois died 8:38 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Generations of Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.
He was born October 13, 1932 in Gilson, Illinois to Ralph Emery and Mary Venetta Brush. He married Martha Thrush. He later Married Marilyn Gray Butts in 1974 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Christine Freeman of Longmont, Colorado, three step sons, Michael (and Debbie) Hollifield of Wheeler, Indiana, Mitchell Hollifield of Wheeler, Indiana and James Jacob (and Sheila) Gray of Delta, Ohio, a brother, Wayne (and Goldie) Brush of Galesburg, three sisters, Elaine (and Frank) Rice of Galesburg, Barbara (and Joseph) Parmentor of Oklahoma, Jane (and Jerry) Miller of Davenport, Iowa and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and six sisters.
Ronald graduated from Knoxville High School, Knoxville, Illinois in 1950. He the served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He then worked for Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg where he was a fork lift operator and worked with blue prints. He then lived in the Florida Keys for 26 years. He was a member of the Elks Club in Homestead, Florida. Ron was a car enthusiast.
Cremation will be accorded. There is no service planned. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
