Mr. Scott "Skeeter" P. Bayne

Scott P. “Skeeter” Bayne, 59, of Galesburg, died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, September 16, 2018 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born October 9, 1958, in Monmouth, the son of Raymond S. and Arlene (Long) Bayne.  He married Julie A. Kirkenmeier on July 19, 1999 in Murray, Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; two sons, Dustin (Heather) Simmons of Oneida and Jason (Tahina) Fariss of Marion, Iowa; four daughters, Summer (Chad Moore) Bayne of Wataga, Lovina “Krissi” (Kairon McClenan) Fariss of Washington, Iowa, Destiny Fariss of Burlington, Iowa, and Taylor Bayne of Galesburg; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; a brother, Bob “Bear” Crandall of Galesburg; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Reece “Viking” Crandall, Donald “Bull” Crandall, and Cecil Crandall.

Scott worked for Service Master for many years.  During that time, he lived in many areas of the country while traveling for work.  He also worked for Simmons Super Wash after returning to the area.  He graduated from Galesburg High School.  He was of Methodist faith.

Scott was an avid motorcyclist, he enjoyed playing pool, and he was an artist, especially painting.  His greatest accomplishment was being a devoted dad and grandpa to his family.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  A time of sharing will be held at 4 p.m.  Cremation will be accorded following the visitation.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
