Mr. Walter Williams Obituary

Mr. Walter G. Williams, 86 of Abingdon, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at his home. 

He was born July 2, 1932 in Winters, Texas the son of Walter R. and Mildred Louise (Daniels) Williams.  He married Louise Jackson in 1962 in Texas.  He later married Lola Clara Boothe on July 30, 1974 in Oklahoma.  She preceded him in death on February 16, 2016.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Glenda Bryan and five brothers, Ronald, Rex, Odell, Jerry and Larry.

Walter is survived by his children, Robert Glen Williams of Merkel, Texas, Eeslie Williams-O’Brien of Abingdon, Linda Williams of Merkel, Texas, Pam Villereal of Pampa, Texas, Arminda Scott of Abilene, Texas and Mary Williams of Galesburg; 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was a loving father and grandfather.  He worked in the oil fields in Texas and also farmed.  He lived in Abingdon the past 26 years.  Prior to that, he lived in Sunray, Texas, Pama, Texas, Fritch, Texas and Stratford, Texas.  Walter enjoyed camping at Lake Argyle.

Cremation will be accorded.  The family will celebrate his life later this summer.   Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
