Mr. Willard D. "Bud" Morgan

Mr. Willard D. “Bud” Morgan, Jr., 94, of Galesburg, Illinois died 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg. 

He was born August 9, 1923 in Wataga, Illinois to Willard D. and Rosetta Pearl Fones Morgan, Sr.  He married Nellie Aureba Knight October 7, 1946 in Palmyra, Missouri.  She preceded him in death in 1985.  He later married Beverly Ann Myers January 20, 1962 in Galesburg.  She survives. 

Also surviving are three sons, Kent E. Morgan, Steven L. Morgan and Trent Tm. Pedigo all of Galesburg, six daughters, Karen Morgan of Galesburg, Kathy (and Buck) Gibbons of Bagnel, Missouri, Brenda A. (and Kurt) Woodman of Draper, Utah, Kay L. Norville of Galesburg, Karla B. Mayes of Galesburg and Tori R. (and Casey) Pedigo-Allen of Rockford, Illinois, one brother, Lee (and Linda) Morgan of Wataga, Illinois, three sisters, Lois Berg of Victoria, Illinois, Mary Etta Pattison of Galesburg and Donna Varner of Galesburg, 24 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and David Morgan and two sisters, Maxine Line and Dorothy Smith. 

Bud worked for Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 43 years and retired in 1985.  He then owned and operated his own landscaping and lawn care business until he was 90 years old.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Galesburg and was the clerk for the church.  He also was a bookkeeper for the Wataga Fire Department.  Bud was in the Army Airforce during WWII as a sergeant from 1942 to 1945. 

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints 1977 E. Fremont St., Galesburg.  Kurt Woodman will officiate.  Burial will be in Wataga Cemetery, Wataga, Illinois.  Military Rites will be conducted by the VFW/American Legion and Am Vets Honor Guard.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
