Mrs. Angela K. Matthews

Angela K. Matthews, 64, of Galesburg, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at home.

She was born June 2, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Lee and Joan Marlene (Halfhill) Kreidler.  She married Phil Bowman.  They later divorced, but remained good friends.

In addition to Phil, she is survived by three daughters, Catherine (and Jeremy) Stewart of Nashville, Tennessee, Jacqueline McGinnis of Seaside, California, and Linnea (and Joseph) Anderson of Galesburg; two grandchildren, Gabriel McGinnis and Theresa McGinnis; and siblings, Robert Kreidler and Michelle (and Robert) Kreidler-Lochmiller, both of Indianola, Iowa.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Angela has been a commercial truck driver for the past 20 years.  Most recently she has worked for DCM Transportation.  She graduated from United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois and attended Blackhawk College.  She had lived in Carlisle, Iowa, the Illinois Quad Cities, and in Galesburg the past 20 years.

When not driving, Angela enjoyed reading, especially mysteries, having pet dogs, and gardening, when time allowed.

Cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev.
