Mrs. Audrey (Danner) Nelson

Mrs. Audrey Nelson, 86, of Galesburg, Illinois died 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. 

She was born July 27, 1931 in Galesburg to Grover W. and Laura Kost Danner.  She married Robert F. “Bob” Nelson February 10, 1952 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death June 11, 2014.

Surviving is a special cousin, Rebecca McGraw of Alexis, Illinois, and special friends, Gene and Judy Stull of Galesburg, Sarah Koons of Galesburg, Justin and Jennifer Moffitt and their children, John, Caroline and Anna of Knoxville and Don and Carolyn Moffitt of Knoxville. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wilbur L. Danner.

Audrey graduated from Galesburg High School in 1949.  She worked for Intrastate/Centel Telephone Company as a business office manager for 30 years and retired in 1981. 

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Galesburg.  She was a volunteer at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg for over 30 years.  She loved dogs, especially her dog, Sadie.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bob, after he retired. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at First Lutheran Church.  Pastor Pamela Marolla will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or OSF St. Mary Medical Center Foundation.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
