Mrs. Becky L. Damitz

Becky L. Damitz, 68, of Galesburg, died at 7:23 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

She was born October 31, 1949, in Galesburg, the daughter of G.B. and Pauline (Pickrel) Donaldson.  She married Barry D. Damitz on June 15, 1968, in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death May 29, 2008.

She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly R. (and Darin) Voss of Galesburg; a sister, Tamie Perez of Galesburg; four brothers, Michael (and Judy) Donaldson of Galesburg, Dennis Donaldson of Indiana, Danny Donaldson of Peoria, and Todd Donaldson of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, and Cacee Voss; and a great granddaughter, Charlotte.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Becky was a laborer and supervisor at Maytag Corporation for 35 ½ years, retiring in 2004.  She was raised and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1968.  She lived here all of her life.  She was of Methodist faith.  Becky was a straight forward person, one always knew where they stood with her.  She enjoyed taking care of her yard, mowing, planting flowers, and handling the snow removal.  She loved watching television, especially detective shows and Judge Judy.  Becky loved her family deeply.

Cremation will be accorded.  No visitation or service is planned.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Guardian Angels Humane Society.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is handling arrangements for the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
