Betty Jeanette Jared, 85 of Stronghurst and formerly of Berwick, passed away peacefully Monday, July 22, 2019 at her home.
She was born March 1, 1934 in Berwick, the daughter of Lyman J. and Ruth L. (Pistole) Inman. She married E. Lee Jared on February 27, 1954. They later divorced.
Jeanette is survived by three daughters, Teena (and Gary) Hansen of Florence, Kentucky, Terri (and Mike) Cole of Stronghurst and Tracey (and David) Smith of Michigan; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; her siblings, Larry Inman of Monticello and Joan McVey of Galesburg; and nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandson.
She grew up in Berwick and graduated from Roseville High School. She worked at Western Stoneware in Monmouth and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, collecting elephants, diamond art work and watching NASCAR. Her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon.
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Berwick Cemetery. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
