Mrs. Beverly A. (Myers) Morgan

Mrs. Beverly A. Morgan, 84, of Galesburg, Illinois died 9:42 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Aperion Care, North, Galesburg. 

She was born June 14, 1935 in Burlington, Iowa to Louis Aaron and Lela Pearl (Throckmorten) Myers.  She married James S. Battles in 1953 in Galesburg.  She later married Willard “Bud” Morgan January 20, 1962 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death April 30, 2018. 

Surviving are two sons, Kent Morgan of Big Springs, Texas and Steven Morgan of Springfield, Illinois, three daughters, Brenda (and Kurt) Woodman of Galesburg, Kay Pedigo of Galesburg, and Karla Mayes of Galesburg, two step-daughters, Karen Morgan of Galesburg and Kathy Gibbens of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, 18 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Louis Michael Tropp. 

Beverly graduated from Galesburg High School in 1953.  After high school she was a member of a professional square dancing team.  She later graduated from Galesburg Beauty School in 1961.  She was a hairdresser and owner of Martin’s Beauty Salon for 46 years and retired in 2007.  She was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints in Galesburg.  She was the past president of Weston Elementary P.T.A.  She served and was the past president of Relief Society, Young Women’s Organization, and Primary.  Beverly enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, reading and playing games and cards.  The family would like to thank all the care givers at Rosewood Care Center.  You loved her and she loved you. 

Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2019 at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, 1977 E. Fremont St., Galesburg with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Bishop Todd Hendrickson will officiate.  Burial will be in Wataga Cemetery, Wataga, Illinois.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
