Mrs. Carol "Susie" L. (Bryant) Edwards

Mrs. Carol “Susie” L. Edwards, 71, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away peacefully at 9:09 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg. 

She was born March 29, 1947 in Galesburg, the daughter of William and Marion Baker Bryant.  She married John C. Edwards on January 21, 1967 in Galesburg.

Surviving is her husband, John Edwards of Galesburg; son, Jonathan (and Lyndsey) Edwards of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Jennifer (and Jim) Nelson of Willow Park, Texas; one granddaughter, Hannah Nelson of Willow Park, Texas; three grandsons, Rylan and Reegan Edwards of Indianapolis, Indiana and Aiden Nelson of Willow Park, Texas; one sister, Terri (and Ron) Hazen of Galesburg; two sisters-in-law, Rose (and Stuart) England of Oneida, Illinois and Lois Edwards of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; one nephew, Ben (and JoVita Medina) Browning of Galesburg; and two great nephews, Kody Clay of Wichita Falls, Texas and Gage Browning of Oak Run, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jeffrey Bryant. 

Susie graduated from Galesburg High School in 1966.  She was a homemaker and worked for Hy-Vee Grocery Store, JCPenney Salon, and Mother Goosebumps all in Galesburg.  She enjoyed Camping, Fishing, spending time with her family, and visiting with friends.  She attended Hope Wesleyan Church in Galesburg

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Cremation will follow the visitation.  A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  Rev. Stephen Descalzo will officiate.  Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
