Clara Rosetta Johnson, 85 of Oneida and formerly of Wataga, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the home of her daughter near Oneida.
She was born January 9, 1934 in Abingdon, the daughter of Floyd S. and Josephine Annabelle (Wheeler) Forshee. She married Lehman Johnson on November 18, 1950 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Clara is survived by one son, Michael (and Dianna) Johnson of Knoxville; two daughters, Melinda (and Mark) Bern of Oneida and Ruth (and Larry) Booth of Mesa, Arizona; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (and Gracie) Forshee of Hannibal, Missouri.
She worked at Maytag and was a homemaker. She was of the Assembly of God faith. She enjoyed reading, gardening, hiking and fishing.
Cremation will be accorded. To celebrate her life, the family will receive relatives and friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Maranatha Chapel, 2031 US Highway 150 in Alpha. Private burial of her ashes will be in the Wataga Cemetery. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
